Oleophobic Coatings

JNS Glass & Coatings offers an oleophobic coating for use on any type of glass surface. JNS will often recommend using an oleophobic coating over an anti-reflection coating. The oleophobic coating provided by JNS Glass & Coatings repels oils, makes the glass easy-to-clean, reduces the visibility of fingerprinting and provides a non-smudge surface. This product also has hydrophobic properties which repel water and other liquids from the surface. Adding an oleophobic coating to the glass drastically improves scratch resistance and reduces surface friction.

Invisible to Naked Eye: When applied to AR coated surface, the AR coating maintains < 0.5% photopic reflection
Resistant to Severe Abrasion and Scratches: Low coefficient of friction makes it rugged and durable, protecting the surface from scratches even in harsh or frequent use environments.

The oleophobic coating does not change the spectral performance of the AR coating as it is not detected on a spectrophotometer.

JNS highly recommends an oleophobic coating over an anti-reflection coating in which regular cleaning to the optic is required.

The oleophobic coating provided by JNS Glass & Coatings that is used with anti-reflection coatings is a more rugged and durable protection solution than the industry standard for oleophobic coatings.
