JNS Glass & Coatings low iron glass is intended for applications that require a high transmission value and low coloration.  Some low iron glasses are patterned and offer unique characteristics for the lighting markets.  Low iron glasses have similar chemical composition and properties as soda-lime float glass except the iron oxide content is significantly reduced, providing a less “greenish” tint.  JNS can provide any of the manufacturer’s products that are commercially available, including Starphire™, Optiwhite™, Diamant™ and UltraWhite™, Solite™, Solatex™, Pixels™, and C-73 Prismatic™.

JNS Glass

  • 2 to 3% higher light transmission in 1/8” thickness vs. regular soda-lime glass and 8% higher light transmission in ½” thickness vs. regular soda-lime glass
  • Can be coated with anti-reflection coating on both sides to achieve 98% total light transmission
  • Retains colorlessness and clarity over time unlike some plastic components which can yellow
  • Can be fully heat tempered to increase thermal shock resistance and mechanical strength
