JNS Glass & Coatings offers several different coated solutions designed for absorbing, reflecting and passing UV. These UV rejection coatings are also used in medical instruments, imaging systems, outdoor displays, industrial equipment and many other OEM applications requiring specific control of the UV spectrum.

UV rejection coatings are designed to block all and any unwanted UV energy while transmitting the desired light.

UV Block AR Protective Window

This filter reflects the full UV spectrum and will not solarize over time, effectively blocking most of the light from 395 LEDS.  These filters act as a great protective window for lenses and are well suited for color imaging applications.

Useful range: 415-1100nm

Cut-on Wavelength 50% T:  415nm

Tolerance: +/-10nm

Peak Transmission: ≥95%

470 SWP Filter

470 SWP filters are often used in fluorescence microscopy and other applications where near UV and blue pump wavelengths are required. Our 470 SWP filter passes an average of 85% of energy from 340nm-450nm wavelengths. Average transmittance from 500nm-700nm is reduced to less than 0.5%. Performance is specified at normal incidence. This coating is typically provided on Borofloat® glass but can also be coated onto fused silica or other UV transmissive glass materials.

This UV passing dichroic bandpass filter can be used with all UV LED, UV fluorescent and other UV producing lamp-based lighting.  This filter passed the 395nm wavelength and all other popular UV LED wavelengths.  The substrate is low-expansion Borofloat, making the filter highly heat resistant.

Near IR/UV Block Visible Shortpass Filter

Also referred to as a  uv blocking hot mirror, the SP700 filters are recommended for a broad visible wavelength transmission and complete IR blocking over the sensitivity range of a monochrome camera with minimal effect on the red portion of the spectrum.  These filters can be provided off-the-shelf in mounts or with very short lead time in virtually any unmounted size or configuration in 1mm or 2mm thickness and diameters up to 600nm.

Useful Range:  410-690nm

Cut-Off Wavelength 50% T: 400 / 700 (cut-on/cut-off)

Tolerance: +/-10nm

Peak Transmission: ≥90%

Blacklite™ UV Filters

Blacklite™ filters are all dielectric thin films on borosilicate glass and offer some additional features over MUG-2 filter glass. The transmitted efficiency is superior, which is critical in areas such as forensics, fluorescence and inspection. Because this is a coated filter, rather than an absorption based filter glass, heat produced by the light source is allowed to exit through the filter. This lowers overall system temperature and can extend lamp life. Additionally, in high temperature applications where tempered MUG-2 is not adequate, Blacklite™may be suitable due to its Borofloat® substrate.
